American Candy

While I was in Florida, I took advantage of all the great American candy that we just can't get up here in the Great White North. I'm not usually a big "candy person" but when it comes to this stuff I am unable to resist it. Especially at Easter when there is all the good stuff, like these mini Whopper Eggs :)

I had fully intended to have this overflowing little bowl of eggs on my counter, but when I poured them out it appears that I had maybe I ate a few more than I thought I had. Its just impossible to resist those crunchy shells.

These are probably one of my all time favorite candies. The chewy vanilla nougat covered in chocolatey goodness. We only seem to get these in Canada around Halloween in those big bags of mixed candy (yes, I pick them all out before anyone finds them. I'm selfish like that). I even posted about them when I did my Fall decor. It is physically impossible for me to cross the border and NOT buy a box.

These guys also come in the same mix bag of US goodies that we have around Halloween. What is it about DOTS that makes them so ridiculously delicious? If I could buy a box of just orange ones that would be amazing. That once happened with some jelly beans I got for Easter. The bag was in the shape of a carrot so they were ALL orange. I believe I may have even shed a tear at the pure beauty of it.

I also had to snag a bag of these Hershey Milk Chocolate Easter Eggs. I haven't been able to find foil wrapped Easter eggs that are peanut-free for years. So these went in the cart for the sheer nostalgia of it all. Recently someone told me that they now have a cookies and cream version of these. Oh Lord. I would be 350lbs if I lived in the US.

And although this isn't candy it is also something that you can only get in the US. We have the minty or berry versions but true original Carmex is only available south of the border. My friend was so obsessed with this stuff that she would buy a whole carton and give it to family and friends. Which is precisely how I got hooked. Thanks Daniella!
