A year ago today my family adopted a crazy and wild 14-month-old Doberman and since then things have never been the same. Shadow has weazled her way into our hearts with her jumping fits, beady black alligator eyes, and her flipped up crooked ear.
We took her to the Atlantic ocean in Maine this summer and she became a beach comber...searching for shells in the sand and gulping up salt walter as she ran in the surf.
Shadow would become the unlikely best friend of one small wild mutt...
She's also became our little Skipper - she loves to hop into the boat and go for a ride up the river, watching for any wayward seagulls (with her trusty sidekick beside her). And there is that ear again.
So here's to a wild and crazy year with a lovable 70 lb lapdog who can eat a loaf of bread in 20 seconds flat!
