Party Time!

Its not every day that one of your best friends turns 25. So when they do, you have to get them past that quarter century milestone with a big bang! Or at the very least, a big party. Thats exactly what we did to celebrate my friend Amy's birthday!

There was TONS of food. And amazing food at that. I'm talking 6 foot long subs. And the most incredible cake, that just so happened to be peanut and nut free! Seriously. I ate two pieces. I haven't eaten birthday cake outside my own house in 15 years. It was amazing.

There was also plenty of...ahem...libations, in the form of deliciously minty Polar Bear shots.

Cheers!

The birthday girl was so excited to have all her friends there and I was happy to meet some of these hilarious ladies. We were literally in stitches by the end of the night.

Hanging out with good friends at a party are what Saturday nights are all about! These lovely ladies actually came down last night for a Girls Night Out in the city. Lets just say it was a lot of Italian food, chocolate martinis and dancing until our heels hurt too much.

It was great to catch up with some of my old friends from high school days. Ash (left) is my go-to style lady. She does my hair in her basement while we eat pizza and discuss town gossip. I love her to bits. And now she's got a little bun in the oven. It just so happens that Tiff (right) is also expecting a little one, a few months before Ash. In fact there were FOUR pregnant ladies at the party. Is there something in the water?

One of the highlights of the night was this slushie machine that the birthday girl's father drove a 9 hour round trip to pick up. It was filled with all sorts of delicious juices, including good old Sunny D. The pregnant ladies hovered around this and the food. I which I had a good excuse to do that too ;)

Another round of shots before we light the candles!

And by candles, I mean sparklers.

But I still asked Amy to blow out the "candles" and she did.

However...once she was given the knife to cut the cake, all hell broke loose.

Her mother was literally like "save the flowers!" (yes, there were gorgeous handmade candy flowers on the cake!)

Her dad's response? Throw mom into the cake. Seeing as this is like my second family, do you see where I get all the extra crazy from?

All-in-all it was a great night spend with nice cool friends...

...and some not so cool ones too. Giving the Three Stooges a run for their money?

What have you guys been up to this weekend? Please tell me you got more rest and relaxation than I did. I must live vicariously through others.
