Future of London at party conferences

It's that time of year again - Party Conference Season is upon us and rarely has it been more eagerly anticipated.

This will be the first time a Conservative leader has addressed their Conference as Prime Minister since John Major in the mid-nineties, the first time Nick Clegg has addressed his Conference since engaging into a Coalition Government with the Tories, and, it will be the first time that whoever wins the Labour Leadership will be addressing his or her party as leader of the opposition. And all just weeks before what is being billed as the most brutal spending review in a generation.

Future of London will be represented at each of the major Conferences, contributing to policy debates on housing and regeneration:
  • At the Lib Dems in Liverpool, I will be participating in a seminar led by the Smith Institute and L&Q exploring new funding models, housing products and solutions for the future provision of affordable housing;
  • At the Conservatives in Birmingham, I will be participating in a seminar led by the Centre for Cities exploring a realistic way forward for physical regeneration in an era of austerity;
  • At Labour in Manchester, I will be participating in a seminar led by the Smith Institute and L&Q looking specifically at some of the housing challenges faced by London in the coming years.

I'll be reporting more on each of these events closer to the time, so look out for updates.
