From social housing to 'big society' housing: can community-led housing deliver regeneration in straightened times?

Coming up on Tuesday 19 October it's the next Future of London breakfast seminar...

With grant and Section 106 money in short supply, the last decade's model of housing-led regeneration may have gone for good. Different versions of community-led housing have had an impact in some localities but have struggled to enter the mainstream, especially in London. Now the coalition government is promoting a 'community right to build' and 'Big Society' responses to social problems. Has the time come for community-led housing?

Policy makers, expert practitioners and community housing groups themselves will explore recent developments and the potential future of these radical approaches to regeneration at the event.

The event will run from 8.30 - 10.30 am, with breakfast served from 8am, and will be held at Navigant Consulting, Woolgate Exchange, 25 Basinghall Street, London EC2V 5HA (nearest tube Moorgate).

Members of Future of London can reserve up to five free places, other boroughs can reserve up to three places, subject to availability.
