Valentine Treat Bags

After making the Espresso Crinkle Cookies, I wanted to find a cute way to package them up to give as little Valentine gifts. Using my Reusable Gift Bag pattern I whipped up these cute little Valentine Treat Bags.

I love the funky pattern and the simple sweet little bows.

And the best part is that these are filled with delicious chewy Espresso Crinkle Cookies. I think I seriously have an addiction because I cannot stop eating these. Wrapping them up and giving them away may be my only cure.

A year ago I saw a spool of this adorable ribbon in a clearance bin after Valentine's Day and I squirreled it away, completely forgetting about it until a few weeks ago. I was so glad that I came across it because it was the perfect way to tie off these little packages.

I'm ordinary not a fan of pink, but I just couldn't resist this fabric, especially when I nabbed to at MacFab's moving sale for 70% off. Score!

To make the bags, I cut a 9.5" x 19" rectangle of fabric (including 1/4" hem), folded the good sides together and stitched along the two side edges. I then stitched over the corners to make it square and then folded the top edges over twice and to hem it. I showed this step-by-step when I made Reusable Gift Bags.

To pack up the Espresso Crinkle Cookies, I stacked them together on wax paper.

Then I neatly folded them into a little bundle.

Then it was just a matter of slipping the bundle into the bag. You could throw some candies in their too, or even a sweet little note :)

And then its just a matter of tying it up with some ribbon!

Speaking of Valentine's Day, do you have any sweet plans lined up?
