Halloween was an action packed day full of mayhem this year - sugar highs, sewing machine breakdowns and frizzy hair freakouts, but in the end I made it to the party. Getting into a costume and having fun playing a character is one of the best parts of the season, and this year was a real blast.
First of all, looked what showed up on my doorstep this Halloween. Why its none other than the cutest penguin in the world, Madélyne. This baby finally made me realize why aunts pinch cheeks. See the little "Happy Halloween" pacifer ribbon and clip? Her mom made that for her. I just can't handle this much cuteness.
This year, I went as a gypsy fortune teller. The puffy white top was from a pirate costume I made a few years back. The skirt and headband I made out of some fushia fabric I found. The yellow wrap is satin I unearthed at a fabric shop on Queen Street and I just added some tasels to it. The belt and tarot cards were borrowed, and the "crystal ball" is actually the planet Mars from my brother's science project.

Here is the lovely hostess of the evening, my good friend Ashley. She and her husband just moved into the house a few weeks ago and you wouldn't believe the work that they have already done. They've got a long way to go, but I can't wait to see the end results!
And this is her husband, Adam, in an inflatable gorilla suite. I didn't even know that these existed, and now I think that I can never go back. He had some killer dance moves in that thing.
The Sailor and the Sailorette - my long-time friend Amy and he boyfriend Mike. Themed couple costumes are adorable, and these two really knew how to rock it. Doesn't he look alittle like Bluto from the Popeye comics?
Not the most convincing vampire (she smiles too much), but Kim definitely gave those "vegetarian" vamps in Twilight a run for their money.
See these amazing angel wings that she has on? Only $5 at the second hand shop, including the halo. What a score.
Newly engaged (super romantic story), Sadie and Trevor came as the baseball babe and a rugby player (complete with mouth guard). I'm so excited for what the future holds for these two.
I did my hair wavy with a three-barrel curling iron that I got a Trade Secret a couple of years ago. My hair is super straight, so it was fun to do something completely different for a change, but I don't know if I could handle wavy/curly hair all the time. How do ladies do it who have hair naturally like that? Its a fine art, no doubt about it.
Hope that all of you had as great a Halloween as I did, and I'd love to see pictures!
