That's what I had this morning, when I sat down
at the computer to post a nice story about how this:
morphed into this:
which became this:
which when opened:
looks like this:
and spoons like this:
The grapevines at That Old House are rapidly curling up;
soon they'll expose their lovely twiggy branches:

This morning, right after I finished that yummy breakfast, the telephone rang. My Dad was being transported by ambulance from his assisted living apartment to the local emergency room -- turns out he has pneumonia in both lungs. I spent all day at the hospital instead, so this is a much shrunken version of my planned post!
Thanks to Susan at Between Naps On The Porch for hosting Metamorphosis Monday! My grapes here at That Old House have morphed into delicious grape jam; this jar is from my neighbor, Ellen. We shared the bounty, but I haven't made my jam yet.

And speaking of fruit, last week I took my 89-year old Dad to an orchard farmstand in New Jersey, just west of Hackettstown. He picked out his own apples, and even paid for mine. Sadly, an apple a day has not kept the doctor away in his case.
On Saturday, we brought him to the beach house out in Southold on eastern Long Island. My sister and her husband met us there, and Peggy and I left the menfolk to wander around doing manly things; we went shopping for veggies. We stopped at a little one-man fruit stand and Peg bought a jar of homemade strawberry jam.
That's my collage for Mosaic Monday, hosted by Mary at Little Red House.

And my sister.
Today, Peggy and I kept each other company at the hospital,
while our Dad alternately napped and charmed the nurses.
I'm glad we'd had a fun weekend,

I'm glad we'd had a fun weekend,
Not too impressive a mosaic, I know. . . . I'll try harder next week!
