The Great Outdoors, Thru Annie's Lens

It's still drizzling here in New Jersey, so I am ditching attempts to post an Outdoor Wednesday story from That Old House, and turning to my younger daughter Anne for help.

I'm joining the Outdoor Wednesday Blog Party hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer. To join in, or to check out other outdoor posts, click here!

The summer after she graduated high school, Anne spent almost a month traveling in Germany. She took a lot of digital shots -- including a few thru a bus window. Here are some, in no particular order, and with no explanations (I recognize a few locations, but am not entirely sure so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves):

And here is our photographer, standing by some wall in Germany in August 2005 -- a rare shot as Anne is camera shy:

The last photo, below. Why did Annie take it? Look at the sign on the left. It means "Exit" in German, but to a group of American 18-year olds, it was pretty hilarious:

(Well, my Mom came back from Germany years ago and told me that she'd stayed at the "Hotel Eingang" in Cologne. She even had a picture of herself standing in the hotel doorway with "Eingang" clearly written overhead. "Eingang" means "entrance" in German. She never did learn the real name of the hotel.)

Enjoy your Wednesday! I am going to take my daughter Anne to lunch, and then attend the opening of her senior art exhibit -- she graduates college next week. Time flies. -- Cass
